We need to abolish NATO since it became unnecessary after the collapse of the USSR.

With all due respect, it was NEVER necessary.

It's purpose has changed into a scam to steal Russia's resources.

The Soviet Union was NEVER an existential threat. NATO's purpose was to intimidate the USSR, glorify the USA and, of course, keep Germany down. Its purpose has not changed. War is a racket. Cheers.

I hope you're kidding. NATO kept pushing direct confrontation for over a decade before Mr Putin made the call. Here's just one example of agenda:

Overextending and Unbalancing Russia >>> Assessing the Impact of Cost-Imposing Options >>> Published April 24, 2019 >>> https://www.rand.org/pubs/research_briefs/RB10014.html

Page down to published statements concerning the Ukraine. NATO is simply a militarized bank and finance cartel. Nothing more.

Nothing in that article said that NATO or even the United States was doing any of that to Russia prior to their invasion of Ukraine. Why would NATO, again, a defense partnership, push for a war with Russia? Even with Russia's invasion of Ukraine, NATO forces haven't directly went to war with Russia. Russia violated the 1994 security agreement with Ukraine, Russia promised their security in return for the Nukes in Ukraine being sent to Russia. In virtually all of this, Russia has been the aggressor.

Were you aware that Russia tried to join NATO and was refused admission?

Sorry Duane. You are quite misinformed regarding the Russia/Ukraine situation. There is little I can do regarding this misinformation. RAND Corporation is a United States Department of Defense funded think tank, and has massively influenced defense objectives for decades. Best regards.

Pay attention to the fact that almost every single European country supports Ukraine in their battle against the aggressor Russia. As well as the United States, our support to the tune of billions of dollars. Why would you assume that all these countries and the USA would be wrong? I haven't seen one protest in any European country supporting Russia, they all support Ukraine. Now I agree that every single European country has not been supplying weapons and financial support, but they all agree that Russia is in the wrong.

Get a grip, Duane! After four weeks I came home from work on 12 January, 2022. On Monday, January 17th about 10 AM I heard loud airplane noise right above us. I saw two C-130 transport planes flying in a southeast direction. I said to my wife: "We are witnesing TSHTF. It's either Belarus or Ukraine."

The planes returned about 8 PM. This was repeated for five days in a row. I made a point of watching the evening news that whole week. Finally, on Friday, the news anchor spent seven minutes talking about the brutal dictator in Belaruse. Then she used seven minutes to talk about the psychopath in the Kremlin. Then came the most important sentence said on the evening news that I've heard in at least a decade:

"The movement of large quantities of military equipment is NOT part of a military exercise." Then without pause she started talking about the Norwegian Oscar nominee for best foreign picture.

This was a full month prior to Russia's special military operation. NATO and the EU have since 1991 slowly but surely exxpanded to all of Russia's European neighbors with Belarus and Ukraine as notable exceptions.

Today German tanks are in Ukraine. Every Russian alive today knows only too well which way the German tanks came the last time they were on their way to Moscow.

Finland and Sweden joining NATO are merely two more NATO provocations.

You also seem to have fallen for the NATO good, BRICS bad bovine fecal matter. There are no good globalists. They are all bad.

Even if there were millions of NATO troops, weapons, tanks, etc, in every NATO country, all massed along the border with Russia, as long as Russia didn't attack and invade, there would be zero conflict. Putin is the one who's threatened his peaceful neighbors, not the other way around.

I'd like to see your comments if Russian troops and military equipment including, but not limited to medium range missiles on the US/Canada border. Ditto Chinese on the US/Mexico border.

Remember the Turkish missile crisis back in the early sixties? Yes, the Turkish missile crisis. It was either Ike or JFK that placed medium range missiles in Turkey. In response to that Khrushchev placed rockets on Cuba.

The story that JFK made Khrushchev piss his pants and withdrew the missiles is fake news. The real story is that the two came to an agreement, and both countries withdrew their missiles, but no western MSM ever told us this truth. That is the reason for US hubris, and why we are where we are today.

OK, I exaggerated somewhat, but I'm pointing out that NATO's charter is specifically "A defensive partnership" and the idea that NATO partnership is a high threat to Russia is ludicrous. We've seen Sweden and Finland now join NATO, but there isn't any great alarm on Putin's part, not that we've seen . There's no credible data that says the purpose of Sweden and Finland to be in NATO is so that they'll attack Russia. Putins great fear of NATO was that he was planning a invasion of Ukraine from the start, and NATO was in his way. It's easy for Putinoids to blame NATO when all the blame lies on Putin

This is still the same myth that it was a CIA coup that overthrew Yanukovych. Even while the United States very foolishly supported Ukraine joining NATO if they wanted to, and putting the fear of God into paranoid Putin, NATO emphatically told Ukraine over and over, that they would not accept them, at least, at that time. NATO's NYET could not have been more clear, so why do you say NATO caused the war? Russia assembled on the border and proceeded to invade, I didn't see NATO anywhere when this happened.

You should be ashamed to be so ignorant of the reasons why Russia had to enforce the Minsk agreements that the Ukraine refused to honor after negotiating them in bad faith. Finland has been attacking Russia since it joined NATO because it thinks it will defend them.

Looks like Russia forced Ukraine to sign the agreement and then Russia refused to abide by the agreement they signed. Same as the 1994 agreement Russia agreed for Ukraine security when Ukraine gave them the nukes, but Russia reneged on that agreement as well. Notice that it's always giant Russia aggression against tiny Ukraine.

So many truths in what you are saying. All of this mess begs the question of who is demonstrating the greater incompetence.

Is it Biden, who has proven over the last 50 years that he lacks the the judgment and critical thinking ability to successfully lead anyone; and that he is no stranger to taking bribes and other related traitorous criminal activity; and, as if that wasn’t enough, he is a walking, stumbling, nursing home wannabe, whose advanced dementia has left his brain in a state of third degree mush with only an occasional neuron firing.

Or does the greater incompetence rest upon our shoulders for knowing the above facts about Biden, and yet we go about our lives as if it’s OK to have that mentally and physically and morally impaired person occupy the highest position in our government without taking the legal steps to have him immediately removed.

Sounds like a dumb and dumber toss up to me. The threat of World War Three resulting from his totally predictable actions tells us the time to remove him is yesterday.

Anyone who thinks that the U.S. can defeat Russia should read the two articles linked below and other more recent articles by Andrei Martyanov ( https://www.claritypress.com/book-author/andrei-martyanov/ ).

I'm trying to locate another earlier article where Martyanov states that if Russia were to go full bore nuclear against the U.S., all major areas of the continental U.S. would be destroyed within 90 minutes. This is one reason why the Pentagon went after Pete Hegseth a few days ago, when Hegseth stated that it would take only 15 (of Russia's) hypersonic missiles to sink all ten of the U.S.'s aircraft carriers. The Pentagon does not want the U.S. public to understand how incompetent it is and how much of our taxpayer dollars it has wasted and continues to waste.

Every American act of war since WW2 has been or is unconstitutional, being undeclared by Congress.

Expand full comment

Correct. These "acts" all fall under the War Powers Resolution of November 7, 1973 as 50 USC Ch. 33: WAR POWERS RESOLUTION. Note the onslaught of 'modifications' under Title 50—WAR AND NATIONAL DEFENSE See: https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?path=/prelim@title50/chapter33&edition=prelim

Note the more recent 'modifications' to Executive privilege as summarized here: >>> " Executive Documents >>> Delegation of Authority Under Section 1285 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 >>> Memorandum of President of the United States, July 19, 2021, 86 F.R. 39939, provided: Memorandum for the Secretary of Defense >>>

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including section 301 of title 3, United States Code, I hereby delegate to the Secretary of Defense the authority and functions vested in the President by section 1285(a) through (e) of Public Law 116–92 [50 U.S.C. 1550(a) to (e)] on the use of military force and support of partner forces to the Congress. >>> You are authorized and directed to publish this memorandum in the Federal Register." See: https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?req=granuleid:USC-prelim-title50-section1550&num=0&edition=prelim

In other words: Nether the approval of the acting President, nor a majority vote via Legislative branch are required to engage military force in acts of war, as long as the "reporting" of such engagement is in order...

Read the entire document. Our Congress has committed egregious acts of Treason time and time again, as our legal classes continue to chase ambulances for a living.

Expand full comment

Beyond that, most of our military members are ignorant traitors, as well.

Treason is defined in the Constitution at Article 3, Section 3, as consisting "only in levying War against (the United States), or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."

All members of the American military take an oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; (and to) bear true faith and allegiance to the same."

When the military is committed to foreign actions without a declaration of war by Congress, as required by Article 1, Section 8, Paragraph 11 of the Constitution, that is a violation of the Constitution, arguably the action of domestic enemies.

When a member of the military participates in an unconstitutional foreign military deployment, s/he violates both the Constitution and his/her oath to "support and defend" it, giving "aid and comfort" to it's "domestic enemies," committing treason by the definition given by the Constitution.

Hello Vonu. Right on target in every regard. There are no *valid* reasons for a standing Army in times of peace, period. The Constitution allowed for States Militia under *States* only jurisdiction.
