I have also stuck adhesive tapes on my skin and it is true that some appear, but almost none if I wash well beforehand and do not dry with towels. I have observed them under a microscope and tried to compare them with synthetic (polymeric) fibers and I have not been able to reach a conclusion if they are textile fibers or something else. I have tried to grow them by placing them in an acidic medium and have had no results either. I have come to the conclusion that in my case those filaments are clothing fibers.
